Common questions
The things families usually ask
Is this the same as a care agency?
No. We provide companionship and practical support rather than regulated personal or medical care. That means we're not the right fit for help with washing, dressing or medication, but we are the right fit for the many everyday things that fall outside what a care agency covers.
Will it be the same person every visit?
Yes, wherever possible. Continuity is the whole point. Being greeted by someone you know is what turns a visit from a service into something you look forward to.
Can we book a one-off visit?
Of course. Plenty of people start with a single visit while family are away, or during the first weeks home after an operation. There's no minimum commitment and no notice period.
Are you DBS checked?
Yes. Everyone visiting a client's home is fully DBS checked, and we're happy to show you the paperwork before any visit takes place.
My parent is adamant they don't need help. What then?
That's one of the most common things we hear, and it's usually about independence rather than the help itself. We find it works best to start small, with something practical and unthreatening like a lift to an appointment or a hand with the tablet, and let the relationship build from there.
How do we get started?
Call 07868 902113 or send an enquiry through this site. We'll arrange a conversation, at the house if that's easier, and go from there. Nothing is committed to until you're ready.
